I absolutely adored the traditional Japanese decor at this charming ryokan. The tatami mats, sliding doors, and beautiful wooden furnishings created a soothing and authentic atmosphere. It reminded me of the old Japan that I have always admired. The general areas of the hotel were clean and well-maintained, making it easy for me to navigate and explore. As a senior woman, I appreciated that the hotel had ramps and elevators, making it accessible for me to move around comfortably without any obstacles.
If I could ask for one thing to make the vacation even better for senior people, it would be for the children working there to be more attentive and considerate towards elderly guests. Although the staff was generally friendly, I felt that they could have been more proactive in assisting senior guests and ensuring their needs were met.

As first-time visitors to Japan, we were warmly welcomed by the staff at Tsuganoki. Our room was spacious and luxurious, complete with a private hot tub on the balcony and stunning nature views. The dinner experience was a true delight, with a multi-course taster menu that left us satisfied. The hotel's public onsen was a cool and refreshing experience, and the free shuttle service from the station was a huge plus. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, and the overall hospitality was excellent.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our romantic escape was superb! The staff were accommodating and made us feel spoiled. The traditional Japanese style of the accommodation was memorable, we loved the open-air bath that provided a relaxed vibe. The food offered was extensive, and we enjoyed the variety, offering us a true Japanese dining experience.
Although the hotel was pleasant, there were a few minor details that failed to impress us. For example, the bathroom was a little dated and needed maintenance to match the main living areas.

We had a nice traditional experience in a comfortable room. the outside hot springs were enjoyable, and staff members were very friendly and polite. We also loved the private dining area and the tasty dinner and breakfast.
The bathroom facilities had a slightly unpleasant odor, and the building and amenities seemed a bit old. some things were not quite as advertised, such as the private balcony bath.
